NEW creashens RELEASE | Lovely Doily Stamps No. 1 & 2

Hello, friends! I hope you've had a lovely week. If not, maybe these lovely ranuculus flowers or my new doily stamps can help. :) Don't they look like doilies in floral form? When I saw them at the farmers market last weekend, I just had to grab a few bunches. Gorgeous!

 

 

If you're in my crafting area, you'll find doilies every where. I have a huge thing for them that stems from when I was a child and my grandmother would crochet doilies all the time. If there was a decorative element on the shelf like a ceramic dog, it would be sitting on a doily. Tea cups and tea pots sat on doilies. Everything sat on doilies.

 

My doilies I have around aren't fancy doilies like my grandmother made. They're just plain paper doilies you would find in the baker aisles. Last weekend, as Kalea painted on her usual white papers, she grabbed some of those doilies nearby and painted on those. They're quite lovely actually, the doilies she painted. And of course an idea sparked in my head to make doily stamps! I told her to go crazy with them, and together we happily painted a whole lot.

 

We painted so much, I had plenty to make into two packs. I hope you like them and enjoy them all over your pages, as much as we enjoyed making them. Hello, friends! It's almost Friday here in Cali, so Happy Friday! I have a few new product releases for Fashionista Friday. My daughter, Kalea often leaves me little drawings on little scraps of paper she finds. A couple weeks ago, she left on my desk a doggie and bunny drawing I just had to turn into something wonderful. She said they are best friends even though "one is a boy doggie and the other a girl bunny". And that "they love each other". I love the way her mind works. Such pure sweet innocence... I just can't get enough of her! The girl undoubtedly loves pink, so when she saw the blues and greens in this kit, she asked where the pinks were. Hence, an add-on pack with pinks!  Something else I can't get enough of at the moment for my paper scrapbook pages lately are wooden alpha sets. So I made a new set of those as well. NEW RELEASE | Krafternoon Delight Kit - Add-on Pack - Facebook Fan Gift

Happy Friday (even if it is the 13th. i've actually been quite lucky with the number 13 in vegas!)! As mentioned yesterday, I am pleased to introduce my newest kit, Krafternoon Delight! I was lucky to be able to take the last two weeks off work to enjoy a staycation at home with Kalea, also on winter break from school. We were finally really able to dive into our craft goodies I've collected throughout the year and made a few trips to Joann's, Michael's, and a few local scrapbook shops to get out AND use some of those much appreciated coupons I had received. Those coupons saved me hundreds in the shop and online, especially when stocking up album pages for my project binders.

We crafted almost every day. How lucky am I to have a little girl who enjoys it as much as I do?! Each time she gets an idea, it's almost as if an imaginary lightbulb pops up above her head, and she would say, "Ooooh mama, I got a great idea!" as if it's the bestest idea each, and the next idea is even greater than the previously proclaimed bestest idea. She's such a ham!

 

 

So our crafternoons have inspired a kit out of me. Kraft paper was a big favorite, and we often found ourselves reaching for the same kraft paper. Hope you like the kit and the add-on pack!

New Products Release | Tomte

Hello, friends! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a little feast with the family, but we were missing hubby who left on an overseas business trip the day before Thanksgiving. He sounded so sick and miserable when he called, I agreed to bake another turkey when he comes home. So in a couple of weeks, I shall be hunting for the smallest turkey I can find and redoing Thanksgiving!

Anyway, I have a new kit in the shop, and along with it comes coordinating alpha sets. I've always loved and been inspired by all things Scandinavian. It's the simple, but unique style that I'm drawn to. It's no wonder CatScrap had me hooked from the instant I discovered it. The unique styles of Catrine, Birgit, and Ida made me a customer for life. I came across a little Scandinavian book about Tomte at a local small bookstore and became intrigued by it. From what I read, Tomte is the Scandinavian version of Santa's elf or little helper that peek into homes to see if children are behaving well and can also be the guardian of home and family throughout the year. I came home and doodled away imagining what my own version of tomte would look like. I hope you like the kit. I really enjoyed and had fun creating this kit about believing in magic and all the wondrous splendor of Christmas. Tomte includes 16 beautifully-designed papers, over 50 festive and uniquely hand-drawn elements, and a coordinating alpha numeral set (alpha #1).

OH MY GOODNESS. It's been nearly a month since my last post. My head has literally been going bonkers for the past three weeks with sinusitus, and after some ginormous antibiotics, I'm finally starting to get better today. I've released a few new products since my last post that I'll share later, because I'm really excited to share my newest product with you today.

A few months ago, someone totally wonderful walked into my digital life at CatScrap. Not only is she super talented and creative, she is so so sweet and always makes me laugh. She is Miss Erica Zane aka EZ. She is surely EZ to love! The only thing wrong with her is she lives way across the country in Virginia so far from me, and I'm continuously envy with jealousy that she gets rain. :P

Yum Yum Snickerdoodle

Hello, friends! It's finally starting to feel like Autumn around here, now if only we could have some rain so I can throw a log in the fireplace smell it all. Something about the mixture of rain and burning log makes my senses happy! But I forget we're in Southern California, so any temps below 70 is almost unheard of. As much as I love rain, I hope it stays away on Halloween day, cause my little munchkin is super duper excited to go treating as Ariel. We went to Boo at the Zoo with some favorite friends over the weekend, and this was her in the car (all done up wig and all), so so excited. Sorry for the bad photo in the car. What are your babes going to be for Halloween?

2011 Fall CatScrap Catwalk Collection + Moon & Back + CatScrap Creative Team Call

Hello, friends! The CatScrap team is thrilled to launch the 2011 Fall CatScrap Catwalk Collection! Our designers have been very hard at work to create the most unique products great for all scrapping styles. With over 30 new fabulous products, you are sure to find somethings to love over and over. I know I will be setting some creative time aside to put them to good use this weekend. Take a look at the collection… Isn’t it so creative and unique only the CatScrap designers can deliver?! I'm so lucky to be with such a talented group of friends to put together this wonderful collection.

And I am so very happy to finally share with you my products for the collection. I worked until the very last minute to complete each little bit, and I hope you like it. First of all, the kit ~ Moon & Back. It’s completely and totally inspired by these little conversations Kalea and I have, as she always tries to top or out-measure the amount of love I have for her. She is an absolute delight as she always surprises me with little phrases like, “Mama, I love you more than the grass and the trees in the park…” and when I try to tell her, “Mama loves you more than the grass and the trees and the birdies in the sky…” she will come back with, “Mama, I love you more than the grass, the trees, the birdies, and sand at the playground!” And one night during our walks, she asked me how far the moon was. I said very very very far. (Of course I did NOT know the answer!) Then she said, “Mama, I love you more than to the moon so far away.” I said, “Mama loves you more than to the moon and back.” Then she said, “Mama, I love you more than to the moon and back and then to the moon and back again one thousand one million one thousand times.” Well, heck. How do I beat that?  I always let her ‘win’. And she is always quite pleased with herself to have beatened me.

So that’s my little story behind the kit. I always like to share the stories behind the kits not only just to share, but to help me remember them as well. So as you can see, everything I create connects you with me, and I am always grateful for my readers taking the time to read.

Moon & Back includes many doodles drawn by me, and that makes it even more special to me. When I saw the brown and minty hues in our color inspiration, I was instantly reminded of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I don’t have it too often, but when I do, it’s always two scoops. Composition Addiction

My name is Shen, and I am addicted to notebooks, especially composition books. Any kind, any color, all of them. As much as I love any and all ink and paper, I just couldn't write in any of these notebooks fearing I'd 'dirty' them up with my nonsense scribbles and bits.

My addiction continues to grow, and I now have several boxes of them. As pretty as they are on the shelves, they are all blank. They are from different countries like Italy, Japan, and Taiwan... The small amount of countries I have visited. I like flipping through them, as their familiar scents always bring me back to the spot where I bought them. 

I have some just laying around my work area... And it brings me so much joy when I open one and see that Kalea has left me pretty surprises and even more joy, as these lovely notebooks are actually being used.

Her drawings and doodles are priceless, because they are so much more to her than just drawings... I'll ask her about the rainbow, and she'll tell me about the one time she saw a rainbow with me when it stopped raining that one day we were waiting for our car to be brought to us.

I'll ask her why she writes my name with hers, and she'll say because we are always together. Her intelligence and memory are so powerful sometimes I rely on her to remind me things. She simply amazes me. My life is completely composed of her, I am so lucky. 

Now these notebooks are even more meaningful to me. 

While I love the new patterns the composition notebooks are wearing now, I still adore the 'traditional' pattern. I thought they would make neat papers to scrap with, so now I present you with two paper sets inspired by the traditional composition book cover pattern.  Hope you like them!

I did not have the opportunity to share my two products last week, so I will share them here today. 

My friend and CTM, Lex actually asked me for some watercolor brushes. She asked, she got, cause she's got it like that.
