NEW creashens RELEASE | life & {scrapflower} Grand Opening

Hello, friends! I hope summer has been treating you well so far. Last week was bittersweet... It marked the end of Kalea's kindergarten year, and her ballet session concluded with a dress rehearsal and a smashing recital this past Saturday. I was fortunate to be able to take her to her last day of kindergarten, just as I was able to on her first day of kindergarten. I can't talk/write about this too much, cause I'll start bawling all over again, so here are some photos from last week.

NEW creashens RELEASE | Lovely Doily Stamps No. 1 & 2

Hello, friends! I hope you've had a lovely week. If not, maybe these lovely ranuculus flowers or my new doily stamps can help. :) Don't they look like doilies in floral form? When I saw them at the farmers market last weekend, I just had to grab a few bunches. Gorgeous!

 

 

If you're in my crafting area, you'll find doilies every where. I have a huge thing for them that stems from when I was a child and my grandmother would crochet doilies all the time. If there was a decorative element on the shelf like a ceramic dog, it would be sitting on a doily. Tea cups and tea pots sat on doilies. Everything sat on doilies.

 

My doilies I have around aren't fancy doilies like my grandmother made. They're just plain paper doilies you would find in the baker aisles. Last weekend, as Kalea painted on her usual white papers, she grabbed some of those doilies nearby and painted on those. They're quite lovely actually, the doilies she painted. And of course an idea sparked in my head to make doily stamps! I told her to go crazy with them, and together we happily painted a whole lot.

 

We painted so much, I had plenty to make into two packs. I hope you like them and enjoy them all over your pages, as much as we enjoyed making them. [note: those are my grandparents on the preview. it's a photograph of a photograph i snapped while going through my grandfather's photo albums with him. i love it, because my grandmother is sipping on a soda pop like a happy child when she's normally quite 'proper' in photographs. she passed away 30 years ago from cancer. oh how i miss her.]

Processing Our 2012 Taiwan Trip

My family is from Taiwan. Kalea and I, along with my parents, took a 3-week trip last month to Taiwan to visit with my 90-year-old grandfather. He is aging fast, and I knew in my heart I needed to take this trip, before it is too late. I have over 10 gigs of photographs to process, and eventually I'd like to share our trip with you. But for now, here's a little photo of Miss Sassy Pants showing us she didn't need to sit and can hold on to the bar all by herself. Other than her great grandpa and the family members she got to meet again for the first time (she was just about 1-1/2 years old the last time we went), this subway riding is what she remembers most.

On another note, I have a few new products for this Friday. See you again then!

Hello, friends! I know it's been a while. I've been away for the pretty much all of April on a family trip which I will share in another post.
